SHeMax Meeting (Southern Hemisphere Last Glacial Maximum) 

When: June 28th – 30th 2018

Where: Morton Bay Research Station (MBRS) of the University of Queensland on North Stradbroke Island. This is in the greater Brisbane area. General information about MBRS can be found at https://www.uq.edu.au/moreton-bay-research-station/content/front-page

The maximum cost will be AUS$260.  This includes 2 nights accommodation in 4 person share room at MBRS. All meals from morning tea on the 28th to lunch on the 30th inclusive (i.e. 2 breakfasts, 3 lunches, 2 dinners and morning and afternoon teas) AND the fieldtrip around North Stradbroke Island to key paleoclimate sites on the 30th (see more details below) are included in the price.

NOT included in the price – return ferry fare from Cleveland to North Stradbroke Island (AUS$14 at time of posting this announcement) and the cost of getting to Cleveland Station/Ferry terminal on public transport.  The timing of the meeting is designed to allow participants to get out to North Stradbroke on the morning of the 28th. You will be returned to Brisbane on the late afternoon of the 30th.

This workshop encourages participation by all researchers working on the Last Glacial Maximum in the Southern Hemisphere and particularly encourages participation by ECRs (from everywhere) and researchers from LDCs in the Southern Hemisphere.

Abstracts.

We welcome all new work and syntheses on the LGM in the Southern Hemisphere. We will also solicit papers to cover key topics and ensure hemisphere wide coverage, from SHeMax members. Abstracts should be sent to James.Shulmeister@uq.edu.au with ‘SHeMax abstract’  in the title.
